Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's 21 titles have been achieved on hardcourt
A revitalized Daniil Medvedev won his initial trophy for 882 days with victory over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament final.
Medvedev, a ex- number one, has experienced a challenging period, achieving just one win at the major tournaments and undergoing a setback at the New York tournament.
The player's varied form on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his serving in specific - caused him falling of the top ten and finally separating with former trainer his previous coach.
Now working with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, he has gradually advanced in the recent weeks - culminating in a hard-fought three-set win over opponent Moutet.
It is his maiden championship after the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hard surface from spring of 2023.
Victory also indicates Medvedev has won 21 championships at 21 various competitions.
"For the first time I'm at a tournament with my two daughters together, so to get a trophy is particularly special," said world number 14 the champion.
"This title is in honour of my younger daughter my daughter, because the maiden victory I achieved when my first daughter Alisa was born was for her."
Medvedev, the former major winner, had lost his past six finals, including in that event earlier this year.
Medvedev's retrieving strategy and frequent emotional displays on court had led observers to doubt if his ability to compete at the highest level was concluded.
But the athlete has altered his approach in the past month, striving to approach the net and perform aggressively, supported by an enhanced service.
He came back from a disadvantage in the first set against the difficult opponent, securing 4 of the concluding five exchanges to gain the advantage.
Both players traded break points in the middle set before Moutet, attempting for his maiden professional championship, took control to push for a third set.
He rescued four early-game break points in a tight deciding set before the Russian won the break to 15 to serve for the match.
Suitably, Medvedev earned the win with a shot at the net, with his opponent incapable to handle a shot after over two and a half hours.
